SNP Trail Conditions, 6/30/95

Doyles River Trail: The trail is impassable to the average dayhiker and overnighter below the Browns Gap Fire Road. The stream crossing above the Upper Falls is challenging to cross and there are a couple of large hemlocks blocking the trail near the falls.

Jones Run Trail: The trail is okay for hikes down to the Jones Run Falls, though small stream crossings near the top will result in wet feet. For all practical purposes the trail is impassable further down the trail at the stream crossing near the junction of the Doyles River Trail.

ACCESS TO THE TYPICAL BC CAMPING AREAS IN THE DOYLES RIVER/JONES RUN AREA IS BLOCKED BY HIGH WATER.

SNP will probably not actually close any backcountry trails in the South District, though several trails are in poor condition.
